The starter area for the Ettenmoors for
Monster Players got a much needed face-lift. It is not perfect but at
least a step in the right direction. Players choosing to play a monster
character have had their starting skills and abilities adjusted in order
to improve their initial experience and survivability. Read the Developer
Diary for full details.

of the Dead brings with it the “Solofication”

Moria Battle
Instances Converted to Skirmishes
The old Moria Battle Instances have been
converted to Skirmishes. Completing the old Moria Battle Instances and
turning in all of the associated quests prior to release of Update 2 will
result in the Skirmishes being automatically available to that character.
If Volume II, Book 5, Chapter 5 is not turned in, but the Battle Instances
(and their wrapper quests) are completed and turned in, you will have to
take V2B5C5 again, but the objectives will be automatically satisfied and
you can complete the quest. If a given wrapper is not turned in before the
Skirmish-conversion, you will have to run that quest as a Skirmish before
advancing. Read the Developer
Diary for more information.
Evendim Revamp
We’ve added 100 quests to Evendim and
smoothed out the quest paths through the region. Learn all about these
major changes in the official
Developer Diary.
It’s the
Little Things that Count
High Value
Armour no longer Sellable
Based on player feedback, armour sets
obtained from Raids can no longer be sold to vendors. If you want to
remove these items from your character you will have to manually delete
them by dragging them out of your pack and into the main screen. The 'Classic'
Armour sets obtained from Skirmish barter vendors are also updated to not
be sold at vendors.
Map Home is now
a Skill
Players have suggested we make the Map Home
a skill instead of an inventory item. DONE! The map home and milestone
system has been revamped! The map home item now grants you a skill which
will be the new way for you to recall to your home milestone. When you use
a milestone, a new UI will appear and allow you to select whichever recall
skill you would like to bind to that milestone. After accepting which
skill you want to bind to that milestone, the skill will update to show
you which milestone it is bound to and you will be able to use the skill
just as you used to use the map home item to return to the appropriate
milestone.

- You no longer have the option to unslot
your relics during a reforge and you cannot get them back even when
deconstructing a max level LI.
- We have eliminated the two tiers of Item

values of the level 65 runes and be useable on any Legendary Item. Any
runes currently in your inventory or in storage will remain unchanged.

Legendary Item. Legacies that have been removed from the game are not

more so at higher tiers. All combination costs may be paid for with
“shards” instead of coin.

Items
- Stacks of Tomes of Fortitude will now be
called such, instead of “Tomes of common mitigation”.
- The burglar dagger “Dornhigil” has
had its name changed to “Gaelaith” to avoid confusion with the
“Dornhigil” Enedwaith necklace reward.
- The Minstrels “Armour of the Silver
Voice” set that is obtained in Mirkwood was renamed to “Armour of
the Hopeful Melody” This sudden change was enacted when the creators
of the Helegrod “Silver Voice Armour” set sought to sue for
copyright infringement. As far as we know all charges have been
dropped though Skirmish vendors everywhere intend to keep a very close
eye on the Mirkwood barter vendors in the future.
- Updated visual effects for several
pre-existing types of pipe-weed.
- Artificially flavored iced fruit drinks
will no longer be throwable.
- The Haunted Tree housing item has been
changed to be a “small yard” item (from “large yard”).
- For carnivores who really like to eat
cooked meat items, the Stew of Kings is said to be much better than
the Roast of Heroes (as the Roast of Heroes is no longer used for
anything...)
- The Falcon Banner housing decoration no
longer disappears from view when viewing your house from the curb.
- Housing decorations made with crafting
ingredient packs from the Turbine store (i.e. - that are bound to your
account) will now become bound to your character if you slot them.
There will be a confirmation dialog when you try to slot them that
will warn you in this case.
- Fixed incorrect names on the following
cloaks:
- Hooded Cloak of the Fallen Leaves (was
using Cloak of the Autumn Wood)
- Hooded Cloak of the Autumn Wood (was
using Cloak of the Fallen Leaves)
- Hooded Cloak of the Silver Birch
(typo in the name)
- The Prized Inn League Steed will no
longer magically cure your drunkenness
- The spear “Gilaith” has been
replaced with a mace by the same name.
- The Spear “Torthel” has been
replaced with a Sword of the same name
- Armour sets obtained from Raids can no
longer be sold to vendors. If you want to remove these items from your
character you will have to manually delete them by dragging them out
of your pack and into the main screen. The 'Classic' Armour sets
obtained from Skirmish barter vendors are also updated to not be sold
at vendors.
- Some promotion cosmetic items, such as
the Hauberk of Glory, can now be placed in your Wardrobe.
- Color of the Warden's Spear Hurler's
Helmet is now shifted to match the rest of the armor set.

frozen valleys in the north.
- We replaced the outdated reward for the
quest “Making Use of the Low-lands” with a reward that will
actually benefit players.
- Evendim: Twisted Heart instance
difficulty tweaked. Mob damage and HP reduced.

slayer deeds now award virtue traits similarly to other zones. These
rewards will be applied retroactively to anyone who has already
completed them.

complete the quest “The Trust of Lórien” to enter Lórien. The
title “Trusted in Lothlórien” is now bestowed upon reaching the
appropriate reputation instead. This will make it so players with the

on Volume 2, Book 7 Chapter 1, without completing “The Trust of Lórien”
.
- The Quest, The Long Reach of Angmar, has
been removed from the game.

obtain a dusky wing for the task that looks for wings in the
Lone-lands.

completed once. This has been fixed.
- Reputation will now appear on the Pure
Black Skin Task out of Suri-kyla.

fingerbones...which kind of all look the same anyway.
Loot & Quest
Rewards

now drop Mithril Flakes when defeated.
Town Services
& NPCs
- Horse-race Masters Sally Threshing and
Carl Proudfoot now give information on racing for a festival mount
reward.
- The “Keeper of Gifts” NPCs (the ones
who give gifts during the Anniversary) will now be at a major hub in
each zone throughout the world.
- Craft Guild Trainers will now be at
every crafting hub.
- The Town Criers have been updated to
announce helpful information about events.

had an additional decoration item added to their inventory.
Festivals &
Events

Bree Will Go, Fistful of Flowers, etc) will no longer be part of the
spring festival. These are going to be used in a separate event at a
future time.
Housing
- Housing decorations that have reputation
usage requirements will now enforce this requirement when the
reputation is slotted. If you can't use an item (because you lack the
necessary reputation) you will not be able to slot the item in your
home. However, as long as you have decoration permissions, you will
still be able to UNSLOT the item. This means that you can remove some
decoration items that you cannot replace!

- When using “Specimen Jar: Gross
Bugs”, the effect will now show up in DX10 mode.
- The Falcon Banner housing decoration no
longer disappears from view when viewing your house from the curb.

- Mouse-over tooltips work more reliably
in the raid member vital displays for the effects that don't overlap
other members' vitals.
- We have made a significant number of
changes and improvements to combat logging text.
- You will now see messages for parries,

are now visible to everyone in the vicinity regardless of how your
floating text options are configured.
- The “Auto move to target” Combat
option has been renamed to “Enable movement assistance in combat”.
The movement assistance mode now includes turn-to only support for
ranged attacks and follow mode for melee when in combat. The movement
mode you use is based on the skills you are executing (other than
default attacks). This option is disabled by default, you can enable
it through the Combat tab on the Options panel.
- Removed the acceleration button from the
